Rosenthal Vintage Doily
Spending summer at my family's home brings so many memories and warmth to my heart. I have crocheted this small doilie for my mother to display with her lovely collection of rosenthal china.
Difficulty level: Intermediate
You will need:
- Off-white lace pure cotton yarn
- 2.0 mm (UK 14) crochet hook
-Tapestry needle
-Scissors
Finished size:
approx. 5 inches in diameter
Abbreviations (US):

sk skip Magic ring
Doilie:
Round 1: Magic ring, ch 3 (counted as first dc), 9 dc, ss on top of ch 3. (10 dc)
Round 2: ch 3, 1 dc in the same st, *2 dc in the next st* repeat from * around, ss on top of ch 3. (20 dc)
Round 3: *ch 4, sk 2 st then sc in the 3rd st* repeat from * around, final st will be a sc.
Round 4: ss in the first ch-4-sp, ch 3 (counted as first dc), dc 4 in the same ch-4-sp, ch 1, *dc 5 in the next ch-4-sp, ch 1* repeat from * around, ss with top of ch 3. (35 dc)
Round 5: ch 3 (counted as first dc), dc in the next 4 sts, ch1, *sk ch 1, dc in the next 5 sts, ch 1* repeat from * around, ss in the top of ch 3 to close round. (35 dc)
Round 6: *Ch 7, sc in the next ch-1-sp* repeat from *, final st will be a sc
Round 7: ss in ch7, ch 3 (counted as firsr dc), 9 dc, dc in sc of the previous round, *10 dc in ch-7-sp, dc in sc of the previous round* repeat from * around, ss on top of ch 3.
Round 8: Ch 3, dc in every dc of the previous round, join with a ss on top of beginning ch 3.
Round 9:
sc, *Ch 5, sk 4 sts, dc 5 in the 5th st, ch 5, sk 4 sts, sc in the 5th st* repeat from * around, join with a ss in the first sc.
Round 10:
Ch 3 (counts as first dc) 4 dc in the sc st of the previous round, ch 3, ss in ch 5 of the previous round, ch 10, ss in ch 5 of the previous round, ch 3, *5 dc in the sc st of the previous round, ch 3, ss in ch 5 of the previous round, ch 10, ss in ch 5 of the previous round, ch 3* repeat from * around, join on top of ch 3 with a ss.
Round 11:
Ch1 (counts as first sc), 4 sc, ch 5, 10 dc in ch 10 of the previous round, *ch 5, 5 sc in the 5 dc sts of the previous round, ch 5, 10 dc in ch 10 of the previous round* repeat from * around. Join with a ss in ch 1.
Round 12:
Ch 1 (counts as first sc), 4 sc, 5 dc in ch 5 of previous round, 10 dc, 5 dc in ch 5 of previous round, *5sc, 5 dc in ch 5 of previous round, 10 dc, 5 dc in ch 5 of previous round* repeat from * around. Join with a ss in ch 1, and fasten off yarn.

Round 2:
Ch 2 (counted as first hdc), dc in the same st, *dc, hdc in the next st, hdc, dc in the following st* repeat from * around so that the pattern reads: hdc,dc,dc,hdc (per petal). You will have a five-petaled flower.
Leaf: (make 2)
Ch 10, sc in the first st, 5 dc, 2 hdc, 2 sc. Fasten off yarn.

Using the tapestry needle, join the leaves and flower to doilie as photo.
